The SBHRS continues to provide support to the community. We have two programs under development. The first program provides a classroom in a historical setting. We bring a class into the depot and teach the students about history, science, and math related to railroads. This program is mostly focused on grades 4 through 6, but it can be tailored for other grades. An information handout and study guide are available for teachers.

(These documents are available in Adobe PDF format which requires Acrobat Reader to view. ) These documents are in Adobe PDF format. If you don't have Adobe Reader, you can get a free copy from the Adobe website, http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

The second program is for youth organizations. We provide a history of the depot and other items that are relevant to the group as determined by the group leaders. Information can be taken from the classroom study guide.

There is no charge to these groups, but donations are welcome and appreciated.

We also can talk about and show an Operation Lifesaver video to help children and adults understand safety around railroads.

Additional information about the educational programs can be obtained by contacting us at (408) 243-3969.

The SBHRS also provides meeting rental space in a unique and historical atmosphere to businesses and members of the community at large.
