We have collected artifacts that represent railroading from its beginnings.
Our collection concentrates on western railroads, but we also have a reasonable
selection of items from other parts of the country and Canada. While some
of the larger items are shown here, we also have many small items, including
lanterns, tools, signs, railroad right-of-way maps, former railroad employee
service items, and railroad operations papers. Our collection and displays
are continually growing and changing. Some of the materials are kept as
part of the library.
The artifacts we have on display are either owned by the SBHRS or on
loan to the museum. Please contact us if you would like to loan or donate
an item to the museum. Due to our IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit status, we
can give you a tax deductible receipt.
