The South Bay Historical Railroad Society, Inc. is proud to announce that on November 1, 2005 we will celebrated 20 Years of Service to the Community of Santa Clara. To commemorate this event, we are pleased to offer for sale to our neighbors, friends, and members, a pair of specially produced refrigerator car kits. These HO-scale 40’ reefers, custom-made for us by Accurail, are reminiscent of the billboard reefer era and representative of the refrigerated cars that moved fresh fruits and vegetables from the Santa Clara Depot to markets all over the United States beginning in 1864. Two different car numbers are available, 1985 and 2005. These cars are $12.95 each or the pair for $25.00. Assembly by an SBHRS member is also available for those that prefer a ready-to-run car for an additional cost of $5.00 per car.
